A great calamity occured at church yesterday. An oversight so heinous that I am sure great reprercussions will issue forth as hell-fire reigning from the skies.
Someone forgot to make the coffee.
This may seem like a triffling but apparently...
You can't teach Sunday School effectivly without coffee. (I can attest to this personally)
You can't participate in discussion in Sunday School without coffee.
You can't play the organ, piano, flute or trumpet without coffee.
You can't sing without coffee.
You can't give the sermon without coffee
And, Most assuredly, you can't stay awake through the sermon without coffee.
With all the things going on in our world, you would think that ONE Sunday with no coffee at church would pass without much notice. But, NO this is a MAJOR deal!
It seems the Deacon who normally makes coffee is away on a mission trip to Mississippi rebuilding homes destroyed by Katrina. He either forgot to have someone else make the coffee, or the "someone else" forgot. Either way, I sure hope they get to the bottom of this so we have coffee NEXt Sunday!
